Get fit the smarter way

Cancel your gym membership instead of your determination to get fit. Of all things, a gym membership is probably something you want, not something you need. It surely does allow you access to high tech equipment and a good environment, but you can stay fit without them if you are willing to walk the extra mile (both literally and figuratively!).

Cardio is always free, and if you’re reading this blog, chances are you have a stable internet connection and a gadget to watch stuff on. Head over to Youtube and search for some free daily workout routines and start moving those muscles.

Or go out on a jog around your block. If you’re driven towards your goal enough, you can achieve it even without spending a fortune on a gym membership. Save it instead.

Sell things you don’t need

 Hand, Comfort, Gesture

Whenever you’re in the mood of decluttering your house, pick out the gently used things that you don’t use anymore and set them aside. You can always sell them to make some extra cash.

It can be the rug that’s been left out in your garage, or that one top you bought that you only wore once because you just don’t like wearing it anymore, or an extra vacuum cleaner that you’ve stopped using because someone gifted you a new one. If you look around, you’ll find numerous such things that you’ve just kept for the sake of it, and not because you desperately need it. Consider selling them and making a few bucks.

Or maybe consider selling it at a flea market too. And who knows, you might just come across a product you always wanted at a much cheaper price (even though it’ll be second hand). There are a million ways to save money – and the best way is by earning. One step at a time.

Eat at home

Make going out for dinners or ordering in a once in a blue moon occasion. Instead, buy groceries and cook meals at home. Try to eat in, as this can go a long way. Sure, ordering in or eating out seems convenient as it slashes the hassle of you cooking and running around buying the ingredients and so forth.

But so does it charge you tips, overpriced costs of basic dishes, service taxes, and whatnot. While eating out may cut you some slack when it comes to physical efforts, it certainly doesn’t cut enough bucks from your bill to help you save. Make it a goal to eat out once or twice a week.

Plus, cooking is a nice art that you can master meanwhile.

Filtered vs Bottled

According to recent research reports, it was found that on average, Americans spend about $100 on bottled water a year, or even more. While buying a bottle of water whenever needed may seem convenient and pretty cheap, if you carry filtered water instead, you’ll save out on a lot of money.

You can always carry a stainless steel bottle stored with filter water. The amount you’ll be saving might seem meager, but you never know when time might come in future that you’d probably kill for an extra hundred dollars.
