It is beautifully designed, and the interior offers a relaxing experience. The main drawbacks are the lack of cargo space and a mediocre powertrain. On the brightside, it does get excellent gas mileage, although if you’re buying an SUV in the first place, is that really a priority?

Based on its outstanding quality and overall value, the XC40 was a finalist for SUV of the Year back in 2019. But as with most things in life, the vehicle isn’t 100% perfect. The interior is noisier than you might expect, and the cheap price is definitely reflected in the unimpressive upholstery.
