Cars are getting faster and faster at such a rate that it’s downright frightening. When cars were first invented, they barely got past the 30-40 mph bracket, and now that’s pretty much the first ten seconds of your drive with every car available on the market.
Since we want to look at some of the absolute fastest beasts out there, let’s just flat-out ignore cars that can’t reach 200 mph and see what we end up with! I should note that many of these cars are affordable and probably not safe to drive if you’re an average driver. Safety first, kids!
SSC Tuatara
This car isn’t without its fair share of controversy. It claimed the title of “world’s fastest car” at one time, clocking in at 316 mph in late 2020. Sadly, it turns out there was a little GPS error and the top speed was only at around 268 mph in later measurements. That’s one heck of a GPS error, though. Imagine being wrong a whole 50 mph and pretending you didn’t notice.
