12 Best Museums Around the World To Visit in 2025 (3 of 7)

4. The Gallery of the Academy (Florence, Italy)

The first thing you’ll notice when you enter this museum, known by the locals as Galleria dell’Accademia, is the ridiculously long queue in the direction of Michelangelo’s David. But while the iconic statue is the primary reason the museum attracts 1.5 million visitors a year, the remaining collection of Florentine Gothic and Renaissance art shouldn’t be underestimated.

5. The Prado Museum (Madrid, Spain)

The Prado houses the most impressive collection of Spanish art you’ll ever find. The highlights include paintings of Diego Velázquez, Francisco Goya, and Doménikos “El Greco” Theotokópoulos, who were among the most influential painters of the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. You’ll also find artwork from other European greats such as Titian, Rubens, and Bosch.
